JOURNEY THROUGH SLAVERY: JUDGMENT DAY

  1. There were nothing but slave holders in the seats or place in politics which kept slavery going on for so long. David Walker believed that America was more their America than the whites. The success of America was off the backs of slaves. The more videos I watch on here the more details I gain about the struggle our ancestors dealt with.

  2. There were many names I certainly haven’t heard before throughout this video. The opposing views between Pierce Butler and his wife Fanny Kemble was interesting to me. Additionally, I had not heard about Anthony Burns; his case caused many disputes and some deaths that it ultimately made the south question if it was worth the recapturing of Anthony. There were a few more names of abolitionists that their stories caught my attention such as Frederick Douglass, David Walker, Harriet Jacobs, and many more. Also, I gained the knowledge that there were more struggles and challenges that former slaves faced once they were free.
